Galiano residents have joined the chorus of island communities outside Salt Spring who feel they have a lot more to lose than to gain from the new schedules proposed by BC Ferries.
Brian Hollingshead, chair of the Southern Gulf Islands Ferry Advisory Committee, reported another record turn-out with at least 120 islanders in attendance at the Galiano consultation session held Thursday night. The meeting was moved from its original location at the community hall to the Galiano school gym, the island’s largest public venue.
“It was a full house as it was for Saturna and Pender,” Hollingshead said, noting the residents’ overwhelming reaction was similar to those on the other two islands
